Tilbury & London Gateway

Waller Transport are proud to deliver our logistics services through the increasingly busy ports of Tilbury and London Gateway. Situated a few miles apart on the north bank of the River Thames, the two ports serve as key terminals for businesses that depend on the efficient transport of goods to and from Europe, and throughout the UK.

In operation for over 130 years, Tilbury is the largest multi-modal port in the South East and the third largest port in the UK. Approximately 16 millions tonnes of cargo are transported through the port every year, at an estimated value of £8.7 billion. The port benefits from excellent road links, with the M25 easily accessible via the A13, and also offers barging services into the centre of London. In February 2019, the Port of Tilbury was given approval to build a new terminal on a 152-acre site that was part of the former Tilbury Power Station.

London Gateway was opened in November 2013 and serves as a multi-functional logistics facility, connecting the UK with 51 countries and more than 90 ports worldwide. The site is home to a deep-sea container terminal alongside a rail terminal and expansive logistics park, offering comprehensive storage and warehouse facilities. The rail terminal at London Gateway has 16 miles of double track on site, allowing trains of up to 35 wagons to load/unload adjacent to the port container handling areas.
